Our Story:

My husband and I knew each from dancing together in a group and first started seeing each other in April 2009. We were together for two year before he proposed in June 2011. He popped the question after a meal in London below Tower Bridge. It was a complete surprise and shock, but obviously I said yes.

We booked our wedding date shortly after he proposed. We had made a long list of halls to visit and Parklands was one of them. Parklands were the third venue we visited and we booked there and then. We fell in love with the venue instantly and knew it was the perfect place for our special day.

Our first step for wedding planning was the date. We wanted a bank holiday so all our guests can enjoy the party without the worry of getting home and into bed for work the next day! Once we decided on the date we then went onto to choose our venue, which did not take long at all as once we saw Parklands we knew it was the perfect venue for us. We booked Parklands 17months in advance of our special day.

We both had a really nice time planning our wedding. We started close to two years before the day, which gave us plenty of time to plan it to perfection. The hardest thing we found whilst planning our wedding was our guest list. Due to coming from a Mediterranean back round we have a vast amount of relatives with huge families. However we did not want to pass the figure of 400 guests. Therefore we and our parents struggled to stick to this number (and yes we went over).

The whole day, from the second we got up in the morning to the second we went to bed was just an amazing dream. We can’t really say that we had a specific part of the day which was our favourite. It was all so wonderful. Everything was so special and we both enjoyed every second of our special day.

Our advice to all bride and grooms to be, is to ensure they do everything to their own preference and make sure that they make their own day special. If problems come up on the day then put them behind and enjoy every bit of your special day as it goes so quick! Treasure each moment. Trust the staff and Parklands as they really help in making your day special.

Mehmet and Cise were married at Parklands Hall, in Quendon, Essex, which is a beautiful venue full of character and grounds full of deer running around. It made for a very stylish and glamorous wedding.
Cise in her gorgeous dress and Mehmet with his dapper black tie suit. Both Cise and Mehmet were so warm and welcoming and all their family and guests seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves if the dancing in the evening was anything to go by.
The wedding was aided by the slick planning of Parklands and the catering by Celal from Grand Palace Banqueting company, this helped the day run seamlessly and lovely food to go with. Videographer was Nic from Dream Day wedding videos a pleasure to work with you on the day .
I would like to wish Mehmet and Cise every success and lots of love in their future together, you make a great couple and I know you’re going to have lots of fun in the years to come, especially with the friends and family you have. It was a great privilege to photograph you beautiful day Fuat Erman Photography
