Where did you get engaged and how long had you been together before hand?

“We have been together for 13 years before we tied the knot. (childhood sweethearts). We had a battle due to our culture and religious differences. However we are both so fortunately blessed to have understanding families who were able to put their differences aside to see us both happy and get married. We truly appreciate our families for being there for us all the way.”

How many venues did you visit before you chose Parklands as your wedding venue?

“Parklands was the 1st venue we saw. We continued to view a handful of others (around 8-10). However, we came back to our first viewing – Parklands! We came back because it was the only place that ticked ALL the boxes.”

How did you feel when you first visited Parklands, did you know straight away that you wanted to get married here?

“We really really liked the place, but as we are both very indecisive we just couldn’t decide! The more places we saw the more we realised that Parklands was the one!”

What was your first step of wedding planning? Venue search, dress shopping, choosing a date etc?

“Venue was the first step. As soon as we booked our date with Parklands, the ball started rolling – Quickly!”

How many months/years in advance did you book your special day?

“We booked our special day just over a year in advance, however the venue Parklands were on hand throughout the year to help us much as possible by liaising with our suppliers and attending to our queries.

What was the hardest thing about planning your wedding day?

“There were many elements to our wedding, therefore the hardest thing was ensuring it all came together and ran smoothly for our family and of course guests. We wanted to make sure our guests had a good experience and were well looked after during the course of the day. We planned everything with our guests in mind at all times.”

What were the highlights of your day?

“The whole day was very memorable, however the highlights we would say was the registry out on the lawn and when we both got together and saw each other at the evening reception. (Our evening entrances)”

Do you have any advice for Bride and Grooms that are just starting their wedding plans?

“To plan as well in advance as possible and to try not leave any little bits to the last minute. Having an allocated contact (Sharon) definitely helped to answer questions and queries at all times. Also having a toastmaster really helped to ensure people, including suppliers were in the right place at the right time!”
