Rachel and Sam’s wedding story:

Where did you get engaged and how long had you been together before hand?

“After 3 years together we got engaged over Christmas 2012 whilst on holiday in the Caribbean. We wanted a Christmas Wedding to match our engagement and couldn’t face the risk booking an August wedding & waking up to rain.”

How did you feel when you first visited Parklands, did you know straight away that you wanted to get married here?

“We visited 2 venues before booking Parklands, we knew straight away it was the venue for us and the other venues could not compare. Parklands was warm and welcoming from the start.”

What was your first step of wedding planning? Venue search, dress shopping, choosing a date etc?

“The venue is the big part of the puzzle after that everything falls into place. We had a church wedding and then went to Parklands for our reception. We booked Parklands in February 2013 to be married in December 2013, we did not want a long engagement as we knew what we wanted.”

What were the highlights of your day?

“The highlight for me was the ceremony, the sun was shining and seeing all my friends & family dissolved any nerves. We were very lucky on the day with blue sky & sunshine, everything ran smoothly & was a great success.”

Now you have “been there done that” in hindsight is there any thing you would have done differently?

“I wouldn’t do anything differently we had exactly what we wanted and the weather was a bonus! My only advice would be less is more.”
“Good luck if your just getting started with the planning, it’s lots of fun!”
