You may have been dreaming of your wedding day since you were a little girl and have always known what sort of wedding dress that you want. But in reality, once it comes to actually buying your dress, things can get a little bit more complicated. You may get overwhelmed by the choice available, the advice given and a million other considerations. You may love the dress you have chosen but still have doubts as to whether it is the right one for you. Below we take a look at the 4 signs to look out for that you have brought the right wedding dress.

It ‘fits’ with the style of your wedding

Just because you have your heart set on a certain gown as your perfect wedding dress does not automatically make it the best wedding dress for your wedding. For example, if you’re set on a daring wedding dress with a plunging neckline then it might not be really appropriate if you’re getting married in a very traditional, conservative church setting. Or you may love that twenty foot train but if you’ve got a reasonably small reception venue, it might not be the best choice of dress.

You like it because of your own opinion, not others

You’ll undoubtedly be on the receiving end of countless opinions as to what sort of dress suits you best and would be the best one for your wedding. Even if you are not easily swayed by what others say, it can be easy sometimes to respect their opinions more than your own. Be honest with yourself when you have decided on which dress you want for your wedding day. Do you like it because you like it? Or do you like it because other people like it? If it’s the latter, keep looking and get something that you like.

You’ve done your research

Even if you are 99% sure that you want a particular type of dress, don’t rule out other types. You should still do your research, still look at other types of dresses and try them on. You may find yourself being surprised that a particular type of dress that you didn’t like actually really suits you. So don’t forget to do your research and if after all of that you’ve come up with the dress you want, you’ve got the perfect dress.

It’s practical

It’s essential that the wedding dress you choose is practical because you will be spending hours during your wedding day standing, sitting, dancing and socializing so it is essential that you feel comfortable in the dress for a long period of time and that it will be practical. The wrong dress that’s not very comfortable or practical can put a real downer on your wedding day and you don’t want that do you?
